So I tried this place as I didn't want to go near work to the sandwich place I normally go to on my day off. Found out it's all family related so I was in good hands. This place is larger and even though there is a line it goes quick. Quality is just as good and so delush.

One of the best sandwich place in San Jose! You get premium ingredients and fresh warm sourdough bread combination that cannot be beat. I love turkey and pastrami with extra spicy mustard and a pickle on the side. Go right at opening and you will be in and out under 20 minutes or less. Limited seating so it's more of a to go spot.

I've known about this place for a while but have never had the chance to come. Fast forward and I'm here twice in one week. CA sourdough is known for having fresh bread and the bests sandwiches, but I wanted to try for myself. I got the spicy turkey sandwich with avocado and the portions are huge. The sandwich itself was $15.50 and could be separated into two meals depending on how much you eat. Biting into the sandwich, you get the most perfect crunch on the outside with the warmth of the bread on the inside. I was relatively surprised but how much I was enjoying it. It was something so simple but the quality was great. I do like the ratio of toppings that were on the sandwich. The service was good. Everyone there was very nice and very quick with everything. Both times I've been (11:00am and 12:45pm) there was no line for me and I was able to order fairly quickly. There are inside seating as well as outside seating depending on your preference. It did really give the vibe of a classic sandwich shop, more of an elevated deli. It is cash only which sucks because if I could, I would come here everyday.

If you're lucky enough to make it in here when they're open or have bread, it's worth it. One of my favorite sandwiches spots in my home town. Ask for extra sourdough spread on any sandwich and the pepperoncinis on the side are always a good complement. Simple well constructed sandwich on fresh sourdough that's been consistent all these years! This place always has a way of brining me back to simpler times and for that I will continue to support.

A staple, good value sandwich shop and rustic interior for a quick lunch. Lots of natural light :) Sandwiches are filling because of the sourdough. Perfect place to carbo-load.

Stop, nope, I just cant with this place. Did I just have the best turkey avocado sandwich in my life? I believe I did. I heard about this place from the people I work with and I decided to finally try it and have some carbohydrates today. I'm thankful I haven't came here before because I would've eaten here. 30 times already. Tons of selections of chips and meats for your sandwich . Very nice little daily look inside and great outdoor seating. Now let me talk about this sourdough bread, when I picked it up, it was warm soft and had the perfect crunch. There was a picture of comfort food in the dictionary. It should be a loaf of this bread from this place. I will return here they will know who I am. If there was one negative thing, I had to say it's that they are cash only. If I'm going to go have lunch there, it's not an inconvenience for me to go get cash. They do have an ATM inside. My hats off to California sourdough.

Service was extremely fast it seemed like an assembly line; I got my 2 sandwiches in less than 5 mins from when I entered the door and there was about 3 people in front of me. It's worth mentioning this place is cash only! Sandwiches themselves were ok the serving size was good but the ratios were just a bit off for me. Something was missing to really give this sandwich flavor which for me is what it lacked. I did also pay extra for avocado on both and was a bit disappointed to see that it was seemingly store bought pre mashed avocado with maybe other ingredients rather than freshly sliced or in house made "guac". The fresh made bread was really nice though. There is really cool decor inside as well as a lot of seating indoors and a restroom. Overall it was still money well spent however I honestly wouldn't return or recommend this spot.

1st off... CASH ONLY with an ATM inside the store though. Plenty of parking since it shares with a bunch of offices. #24 Bold, Madrasala, Curry Chicken: Now this is an off choice but hey that's me. It's pretty good and the taste of the curry season is there but not overwhelming and on that oh so juicy chicken... bomb. The sandwich is filling and it comes with the bonus of self served yellow peppers and roulette of sauces. The bread was soft like my bottom and it has only a slight sourness to it. $14 a sandwich, the quality is definitely on point, but it is pricier than other spots if you are (or me) looking for a simpler sandwich that fills you up. They bust out your warm sandwich in like 1 minute and funny enough call you based on the t-shirt you're wearing. Would come back if I wanted to splurge for a good sandwich

I finally got the opportunity to try California Sourdough and let me tell you... I was absolutely ecstatic!! Known for their freshly baked sourdough, CS prides themselves on baking loaves all throughout the day. The sandwich shop is small in size and offers both patio and dine-in seating. Upon entry, there are an assortment of drinks refrigerated and a shelf filled with chips to accompany your order. The menu is comprised of 27 different sandwiches and can be customized for a fee with items such as avocado, sun dried tomatoes, or bacon. My word of advice: be patient, especially if you arrive during the lunch rush. Being that the shop is on the smaller side, there is almost a guarantee for the line of hungry guests to grow out the door. Cashier moves fairly quickly but it definitely speeds things along if you already know what you would like beforehand. Lunch consisted of: #5- Pastrami Sandwich [loaded w/ spicy brown mustard] #9- Turkey & Ham Sandwich [dry- no mayo or mustard] Cup of Macaroni Salad + 2 pickles on the side Hot sauces and chilis are located on a small table- self serving style. Food came out bagged in a paper bag, each sandwich wrapped neatly. Food: Macaroni salad was good. The pasta had a bite to it [very Al dente] so if you aren't into that, pass on this item. The sourdough in itself is fresh, still very warm, and had the perfect amount of crunch & fluff to it. The sour aspect could have been a bit more stronger IMO but still very good nonetheless. The deli meats were more on the bland side so mustard and mayo would have helped my sandwich tremendously. Salt and pepper is provided at the condiments table to enhance the flavorings which I should have taken advantage of- my fault, not theirs. 4 stars for the visit. Food is simple yet so darn good.

Best. Sourdough. Ever. I need only 1/2 sandwich but I eat it all cause it's so good. Crusty outside warm fluffy inside. Fresh turkey, carved. Roast beef and ham with spicy mustard. Hold the mayo. Nice seating outside. If their was a park nearby, even better. Sometimes the line is out the door but these guys are super efficient. They have each sandwich meat prepared ahead of time for each sandwich so they make them super fast. Cash only.
